Frequently Asked Questions

There are four types of headlight bulbs, so you can choose the one that's right for you based on your car model and the bulb model on our website.

LED headlight bulbs: These are usually installed in the daytime running lights of some newer cars. With this type of bulb, you can benefit from low power consumption and quick start-up. What's more, they can last the lifetime of your vehicle.

Halogen Headlight Bulbs: This is the model most commonly used in newer car models. You'll find H1, H4, and H7 halogen headlight bulbs.

Xenon headlight bulbs: This type of headlight bulb uses a gas called xenon, hence the name. The light is turned on by creating an electric arc between the electrodes.

Laser headlight bulbs: This model was first used by BMW and AUDI. Despite the small size of the laser diodes, the luminous flux produced is 4 times greater than that of a conventional LED headlight bulb. What's more, it has a range of up to 600 meters.

For headlight bulbs on the front lights, first open the hood, and remove the connector and hook used to secure the bulb. Then remove the failed headlight bulb, install the new bulb, and replace the fasteners and connectors. For rear lights, first open the trunk, then unscrew the bolt to gain access to the light. Remove the headlight bulb, install the new bulb, and tighten the screw so that the bulb is properly seated and watertight. Whichever bulb you're removing, make sure it's securely fastened.

Caution: Be careful not to touch the glass of the bulb. If it's a halogen bulb, you risk burning it out. To avoid this, we advise you to wear clean gloves and use a cloth to clean the headlight bulb if you notice any stains on it.

Of course, lighting is designed as a whole and each reflector/lens is precisely matched to the chosen light source. Changing the light source means that the reflector/lens will have to be extensively reconfigured to adapt to produce high-performance, glare-free lighting. In the absence of homologation for these adaptable LED lamps, we see in many products from unknown brands that the position of the emitting LEDs in these products is not necessarily exactly identical to that of the filament in a homologated H7 halogen.

What's more, the dimensions of these LEDs are often much larger than those of the filament, which also significantly changes the way the light is emitted.

As a result, the reflector and/or lens can no longer properly reflect and diffuse the light on the road surface. The risks are many, ranging from poor lighting for you despite the high power output (poor light distribution in width, height, and depth because the reflector is no longer adapted and there is a risk of casting shadows on the road when illuminating trees) to dazzling other road users because the light may be diffused too much, particularly in the case of headlights without lenses.

1. Halogen headlight bulbs are inexpensive, and replacing them won't cost you more than $100. However, replacing a complete halogen assembly can cost around $100.

2. A simple xenon bulb replacement only costs around $100, you may have to fork out up to $1500 for a complete HID headlight assembly.

3. LED bulbs and assemblies are pricey. Expect to pay around $100 for a single bulb and up to $1,500 for a complete set of headlights.

4. A new set of laser headlights will cost between $8,000 and $15,000.
